Richard Eskite, an award-winning food and product photographer, has been shooting advertising and packaging assignments in his San Francisco studio since 1985. Born in Washington DC, Richard graduated from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA, before coming to San Francisco to work as Staff Photographer for Landor Associates.
Richard's wide client base includes some of the best known food companies in the world, including Beringer, Del Monte, Dreyer's Ice Cream, Ghirardelli Chocolate, Jamba Juice, Mondavi Wines, Ocean Spray, Safeway Stores and Williams-Sonoma. Restaurant photography is a speciality that includes clients such as Boudin Bakery, Black Angus Steakhouse, Cracker Barrel, Einsteins & Noah's Bagels, Peet's Coffee and Rubio's Restaurants, to name a few.
Richard is a unique craftsman and problem solver, exceptionally talented in modifying props and backgrounds to suit the needs of his clients. Comfortable working in a variety of materials, he has developed devices and gadgets in his studio workshop that have improved the quality and efficiency of his photo shoots and made many a food stylist very happy.
Richard taught photography at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco for many years and can proudly say that many of his protégés have gone on to significant achievement in their own careers.
Out of the studio, Richard enjoys playing the Mandolin and traveling in search of food and good local music. For a change of scenery, he enjoys weekends in his Sierra home with his wife and producer, Juliann and their dog Sophie.
